Second recall hits two more Dole facilities. A Listeria-prompted recall late last year resulted in Dole temporarily suspending operations from two production facilities; now the company is pulling packaged salads processed at its Springfield, OH, and Soledad, CA, facilities as well.

Fresh Express is recalling certain varieties of its branded and private label salad products produced at the company’s Streamwood, Illinois facility because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Recalled salad items were distributed through retailers in the Northeast and Midwest regions of the United States, as well as distributors and retailers in Canada. U.S. distribution includes the states of CT, IA, IL, IN ,KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, ND, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, WI.
Ingardia Bros. Produce does not sell and has not sold Fresh Express or Dole Salad mixes.
As of Nov. 15, 10 people infected with a E. coli outbreak strain has been reported from seven states: Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and South Dakota. Illnesses started on dates ranging from Oct. 15 to Oct. 27. Five people in this outbreak reported eating spinach in the week before becoming sick and one person reported eating Josie’s Organics brand.
Ingardia bros. produce does not and has never bought Josie Organic brand baby spinach.
