Strawberries are active and increasing in price. California production remains low due to the rain from two weeks ago, leaving Baja as the primary source to fill the gap. The demand exceeds the supply, and prices are expected to remain elevated for at least the next two weeks.
Carrots are also active and increasing in price, particularly jumbo-sized ones. One of California’s largest growers is experiencing production issues; Mexico’s output is fair and Arizona production is insufficient to fulfill the current demand. Zucchini squash prices are also increasing. USA production has concluded, and Mexico is beginning its season. Cold weather in Mexico has limited production while transportation shortages are further driving prices higher. Cauliflower is active and increasing in price. Cold weather in California and Arizona is slowing production, creating gaps between growing fields. Rainfall from two weeks ago has also led to quality issues, further tightening supplies.
