Jumbo carrots are tight and up on price. Limited production of jumbo carrots out of California, with sizing leaning more toward medium sized ones.

Iceberg lettuce is very limited and up on price as well. The demand exceeds the supply. There’s a production gap in Santa Maria and not enough production out Salinas to fulfill the demand.

Red bell peppers continue to be limited and up on price. California is still gapping between growing regions reducing current yields.

​Pineapples are very active and up on price. Costa Rica is being impacted by heavy thunderstorms, therefore a gap in their production. Not enough production out of Mexico to fill the void.

Blackberries are also up on price. Mexico and California are fighting quality issues, and the pacific northwest still isn’t in full swing.
 
Red bell peppers continue to be limited and up on price. California is still gapping between growing regions reducing current yields.

Asparagus continues to be active on all sizes. The production gap remains between growing regions in Mexico; California production is done and not enough production out of Peru to fulfill the demand on the east coast.

​Red and yellow bell peppers remain high as well. Mexico is done with their production and not enough production out of California to fulfill the demand.

Red bell and yellow bell peppers are active and up on price. Mexico has finished with their production. Not enough production out of California to meet the demand and minimal product crossing from Canada. Expect prices to stay high until California is in full swing.

​Asparagus is also extremely active and up on price. Mexico is in a production gap between growing regions and not enough production out California and Peru to fill the void. The export demand (overseas) is higher than the supply available. Expect prices to be high until the production out of Mexico improves.

​Asparagus is getting active, especially large. Majority of the large asparagus out of Baja is being exported driving the demand up on the west coast.
 
Russet and Idaho potatoes continue to go up price. Still storage potatoes (last years crop) and 3-4weeks before we begin with the new crop.
 
Blackberries are also active. Product of Mexico is having quality issues due to warm weather they experienced. Not enough production out California to full fill the demand.

Green bells are very active. There’s a production gap between growing regions in California and very minimal production out of Mexico. Expect prices to increase throughout the week.

Pineapples are also active and up on price. Costa Rica’s production is low and the demand is high. Not enough production out of Mexico to full fill the void.

All tomatoes are active and up on price. Mexico is winding down and not enough production out of California to fulfill the demand.

Green, red, and yellow bell peppers are also up on price. Green bells out Bakersfield have passed its peak production while Fresno and Ventura are barley starting theirs. The east coast is also behind with their production relying on California to full fill the void. Red & Yellow Bells are mainly out California because both Mexico and Canada are having issues with their production. Expect higher prices throughout the week.
 
Romaine, Romaine hearts, and Iceberg continue to be active. There’s a production gap in Santa Maria and relying on Salinas to full fill the demand.
 
Idaho and Russet potatoes are up on prices as well. Last year’s storage potatoes are winding down and it’s about 4 weeks before we get into the new crop. Expect prices to continue to increase and sizing will be an issue, particular the big sized ones (40-60ct).

Cauliflower and broccoli crowns are active and up on price. There is a production gap in California and Mexico is having quality issues with their production. Not enough production out of California to full fill the demand.

Iceberg, romaine, romaine hearts and green leaf are also active and up on price. Santa Maria, Ca is having quality issues with their production and Santa Maria is light on their production. Expect prices to increase throughout the week.
​
This will also impact the prices for broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, shredded lettuce and four-way salad.

Romaine and iceberg lettuce continue to be active and up on price. Limited production out of Santa Maria and relying on Salinas to fill the void.

​Kennebec potatoes are also active and up on price. Storage Kennebec’s are basically finished, product coming out of Arizona is having a lot of quality and sizing issues. California just started their season, but a lot of small potatoes therefore not enough large sized ones to fill the demand. Production not expected to get better until middle of July.

Cara cara oranges are done for the season. California has finished its season and offshore product out of Australia is expected to arrive in August. Best substitution would be blood oranges.

Romaine and romaine hearts are active. Oxnard, Ca is done with their production, Santa Maria is in a production gap, therefore only leaving Salinas to cover the demand. Not enough production to full fill the void which is driving the price up.
