Cauliflower and broccoli crowns are supper active and up on price. The cooler weather at nights is slowing down the production and not enough product to fulfill the demand. This will affect the price on cauliflower and broccoli florets as well.

Cilantro and parsleys are up on price as well. Central California experienced a lot of heat waves past 2 weeks affecting the quality (burnt tips) and volume produced. Expect prices to get higher throughout next week.

Strawberries are up on price as well. They are gapping between Santa Maria and Oxnard. Low production and high demand.

We have transitioned from Valencia oranges to Navel oranges out Chile.  Domestic navels are expected by the end of next week.  Small size navels are peaking,  limited large navels are available so we are still using Valencia’s for 48ct.

Watermelons have also transitioned from growing regions. USA product is done or have too many issues and Mexico just started. The Mexican fruit will be slightly undersized, light color, and low sugar. The quality should get better as the season goes on.

Green bell peppers are active. Northern California is winding down with their production and Coachella (CA) just started with very low volume.  Mexico is about a month away so expect price to be high until then.

Portobello mushrooms are very active and limited. The west coast is in a production gap. The east coast (Pennsylvania) and Canadian product aren’t expected in California to until early next week.

Yellow corn is also limited and up on price. Oregon and California are winding down and still about a month away before Mexico starts. Colorado is trying to fill the void, but not enough to full fill the demand. Expect white corn to follow as well.

All tomatoes are supper active. Limited supply out of Mexico and California.  East has started to pull from the west coast (Baja, McAllen & California) to full fill their demand leading to price increases.

Lastly, grapefruit out of California are done. We have started with the Star Rubys out Texas or Mexico with excellent color. Price is high because it is the beginning of the season.
