Blueberries continue to be limited and high priced. The Pacific Northwest is finishing up with their production and waiting for Peru to start.

Lemons are also supper active and up on price. District 2 (Oxnard/Ventura, CA) is winding down and waiting for District 3 (Coachella & Imperial Valley) to start in 2 weeks. There is offshore product out Argentina and Mexico, but not enough to fill the void.

Asparagus is also on the rise. Limited production out of Mexico. They continue to experience extreme heat, therefore fighting quality and the proper sizing. There is product of Peru, but mainly being shipped to the east coast and still not enough to offset México’s shortfall.
Green beans are supper limited as well and up on price. Mexico experienced a lot of high temperatures and having a lot of quality issues. California isn’t producing enough to full fill the demand.

Lastly, we sold all the 1-layer tomatoes (beefsteak), and we don’t have any more expected. The system shows 12 cases on hand, but they are committed to customers already.

Cremini and white mushrooms are supper limited and prices are up. The whole west coast is in a production gap. The east coast (Pennsylvania) and Canada cannot produce enough to fill the void. This will also affect the sliced mushrooms.

All the   CITRUS out of California is winding down.
  • Lemons-Transitioning to product out of Argentina, Chile, and Mexico.
  • Grapefruit- Limited production out of California. Mexico won’t start for another 2-3 weeks, and Texas won’t start until mid-October.
  • Oranges- High demand on Valencia’s with schools ramping up again. Offshore navels have started (Chile), but low on sugar brix.
  • Blueberries out of the Pacific Northwest and Canada are coming to an end and the quality is fair.  Mexico isn’t expected to start their season until early October.
  • Limes  continue to be extremely limited out of Mexico. The price remains high and is trending higher.
