Iceberg lettuce is up on price. Cool weather in Salinas is slowing down their production and Santa Maria isn’t producing enough lettuce to full fill the demand. Expect prices and production to be tight into next week. Zucchini and Yellow straight neck are also on the rise on price. Product got snug out of Mexico (Sonora) because a lot of growers are done due to hot temperatures affecting the quality. California (Santa Maria) just started, but not enough production to cover the demand. Raspberries are also up on price. Baja is in a gap and the Central Coast of California is slowly picking up on their volume. Expect prices to maintain up until there is more volume of out California.

Cilantro is active and up on price. Mexico is done with their season and transitioning to USA product, but we are experiencing a gap. Not enough cilantro to full fill the demand. Quality is okay and the bunches are on the smaller end. Lemons 140-200ct are extremely tight and up on price. The San Joaquin Valley crop is winding down and are transitioning to lemons out of Oxnard/Ventura County. Not enough small sized lemons to cover the demand. There is plenty of the larger size lemons 75ct-115ct available at a much lower price as a substitute. Roma and 2-layer tomatoes (4x4, 4x5,5x5,&5x6)continue remain high on price. Southern Mexico is winding down and Baja is just starting up. Red onions are on the rise again. California is supplying all the United States and not enough to meet the demand. Still waiting on Mexico to start, but they are about 2 weeks away from the beginning of their season. |
