Cool weather has slowed fruit growth, resulting in lighter volumes. Limited supply from Guatemala and Honduras has also increased demand for Mexican product. Mini watermelons are non-existent.

Limes- The lime supply continues to be tight due to a production gap between seasons as the winter crop ends and the larger summer harvest has not yet started. Severe weather, including drought followed by excessive heat and humidity in regions like Veracruz, has also reduced yields.

Cucumbers- The cucumber supply is currently tight and prices are high. Southern Mexico is finishing its harvest, while northern regions won’t start until mid-April. Cooler weather has slowed growth, and reduced supply from Guatemala and Honduras which has further limited availability.

Roma and round tomatoes (4x4-5x6) There is plenty of Roma and round 2-layer tomatoes available now, and prices have dropped significantly. Prices are expected to continue declining.

Green Beans:  Florida green bean growers were severely impacted by recent freezing conditions, reducing domestic supply.  The market is relying heavily on Mexican production to fill demand. 

Yellow Squash/Zucchini: Prices continue to climb due to limited availability.  Strong demand has shifted to Mexico as Florida supply was depleted due to cold weather.  Stronger markets are expected to remain.
